i include this page with some reservations because...
Despite what some test prep companies or tutors may promise or suggest, score improvement depends on many factors, including what a particular student’s issues are, how many hours we work together, and how much each student practices the skills, concepts, and tips I teach.
You also never know what results a tutor or test-prep company have hand-picked to show you, nor if the results are even from real students.
i’m not going to give you a song and dance.
I include below all the results that I currently know about. Although, I have tutored scores of students for the SAT and ACT over my 30-year career as a tutor and partnered with several test-prep companies to develop prep strategies and material, I have collected only a small percentage of those students’ before and after results.
This is because most students start working with me before taking a test, which means we don’t have a “before” score to compare to an “after” score. Also, of the students who have taken a test before working with me, I have not always received their “after” scores for various reasons. Finally, during and since Covid, many colleges stopped requiring the SAT or ACT, and there was a sharp decline in students taking tests, so most of my recent tutoring has been for academic classes.
Since the digital test came out, however, there has been an upsurge in students taking the test, and I have recently decided to be more conscientious about collecting before and after results whenever I can.

I recommend a simple approach to deciding whether to work with me: schedule a trial session.
This allows your student to experience how helpful I am. It also allows me to get to know your unique student. I can then give you both my assessment. Usually a session or two is enough time for me to give you my recommendation for how to best move forward given your student’s unique situation, including their particular issues, target score, schedule, and time before the test date.
This flexible, individually-tailored, back-and-forth approach is what makes my tutoring both efficient and effective.

A Few More Things to Note About these Results:
Sometimes a student asks that we focus our tutoring on a certain test section, such as the English section of the ACT. In these cases I note the improvement in the score of that section only.
The digital version of the SAT is very new, so I am just beginning to collect scores from students.
